I have fond memories of cookies throughout my life. My grandmother’s house always had a jar filled with bite-size morsels of chocolate, shortbread, coconut – even the occasional raisin! Holidays were the best; my cousins, aunts, uncles and siblings would request their favorites, and Grandma would bake up a storm. The house smelled like cinnamon and sugar for days.
By high school, I was old enough to experiment with baking on my own, and my hobby continued throughout college. My skills proved useful during my first job. I was broke, but scrapped together some change to bake a few batches of chocolate chip cookies as gifts for my colleagues during the holidays. The cookies were a hit! Eventually I landed in New York, where my annual holiday “Bake-a-Thon” expanded to include a variety of cookies and about triple the recipients.
A few years ago, I noticed that local bakeries and coffee shops began offering monster cookies, huge cake slices and jumbo muffins. The treats were big, heavy, and overpriced…and frankly, not very satisfying. When I mentioned my disappointment to my husband Mark, he suggested that I do something about it. Why not offer my cookies to others, so they could experience what a “real” cookie tastes like? What began as a few boxes for friends has now become WannaHavaCookie Inc.
To all my fellow cookie lovers, here is a taste of goodness without the hassle. All our recipes are original, and crafted with a love of great flavors and fun combinations. Our entire menu is hand-mixed, baked to order, and sized to fit your diet – not destroy it. Our treats will deliver all the enjoyment you should expect from home-baked goods.
